A has-been 80′s rocker-turned morning DJ who gets fired. As revenge, he broadcasts a song over the airways that turns listeners into zombies. Due to the developing apocalypse, Nas and Nik, a couple of 20-something couch potatoes, must venture out into the streets to get the electricity back on. After a close call with some moo-ing zombies, they barricade themselves in a record store where they find the DJ’s ex-band member, who is the only person who knows how to reverse the armageddon… with ROCK!

I had this idea for a Zombie story in late 2011 and shared my idea a month later during a Livestream session along with a couple of sketches. Originally, it was meant to be a limited animation series done in Flash, but the amount of work for one person to do would be a bit too much for me. It was then that I decided to dive into comics.

The only experience with comics that I’ve had were only one-shot joke comics. No long form stories. So I started searching around for tips. I think I may have been hoping for a magic formula to help easily get this story out of my head, but the top tip I always ran into was the same.

The best way to learn to make comics is to just make comics.

So that’s what this is then. My learn to make comics comic.

Now I’m no writer. It’s a problem that a lot of artists have. Fortunately, Trevor was a big help and gave me the push I needed to start getting my ideas on paper. With his help, I stumbled my way though chapter 1. Now, with the help of Franc (totally the co-writer), we have chapter 2 in the bag and most of the story fleshed out.

Hopefully, this comic will be a great experience for everyone. And maybe, just maybe, this learn to make comics comic will teach us how to make comics!
